A Walk on the Beach
Oil on Birch Panel
11" x 27"

When we lived on Cape Cod, I loved walking the beach at Harwichport. I saw a photo of beach chairs in the newspaper one day, and it triggered fond memories of the Cape’s long sandy expanses. As I was sketching my version of the scene, I decided to include a mini self-portrait. I also added big banks of white marshmallow clouds as a foil for the complementary blue and yellow palette. I swear I could smell the fresh sea air as I worked on this painting!
